WELCOME
This page will be updated to track the release of compatibility updates for MSFS2024 as we work through them.
WARNING: We DO NOT recommend trying to install our MSFS2020 packages into MSFS2024 for multiple reasons. They won't work as intended, elements may be missing or may misbehave and/or they may affect the stability of the simulator. This last point is particularly true for MSFS Marketplace users who are experiencing frozen loading screens (locking at ~97%). Our tests suggest that this is due to the streaming/download infrstructure and not directly related to the packages which are loading fine from the Community folder or via our partners at Orbx, Contrail and JustFlight. We are not in control of the availability of our incompatible MSFS2020 packages to MSFS2024 users but have requested Microsoft look into this and/or investigate the download/streaming/launch issue. If you have been affected by this and can't launch into MSFS2024 please see the note below about recovery.
COMPATIBILITY TRACKER
The below table lists the current MSFS 2024 compatible releases and where you can find them. Updates will be available via each of the publishing partners following testing.
Note: The MSFS Marketplace setup requires that we release to the PC and Xbox simultaneously, so we can't make the packages available until we have been able to successfully test a package on the Xbox version of MSFS 2024. MSFS2024 Xbox testing isn't currently available to us.
Recovering from attempted MSFS2020->MSFS2024 package installations
If you have tried to install the MSFS2020 packages via the MSFS2024 Marketplace you may not be able to get past the loading screen. The activated packages are stored in a file named Content.xml. To force removal of our MSFS2020 packages from MSFS2024 you can remove or edit the lines that mention our packages. On a Microsoft Store install the file is normally at:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Content.xml.
On Steam it is at:
%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
You will see something like this for the vessels core library:
<Package name="fs20-seafront-sightseeing-vessels-core" active="Activated"/>
You can either delete the line or change it to:
<Package name ="fs20-seafront-sightseeing-vessels-core" active="UserDisabled"/>
before saving the file and relaunching the simulator.
